PLGA Scientific Director, Charles Stiles, PhD is awarded the 2014 Casty Family Achievement in Mentoring Award

On March 12th, our PLGA Program Scientific Director was awarded the 2014 Casty Family Achievement in Mentoring Award.  Many of Dr. Stiles’ past and present trainees attended the event held at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and enjoyed a look back over Dr Stiles’ career as a scientist and mentor.  Congratulations Dr Stiles!

Awards of Three New Grants in 2013

The PLGA Foundation has generously awarded Drs. Kieran and Stiles grants to support clinical research co-ordinators to increase the number of children and families who can participate in making new discoveries and advance treatments. The third grant was awarded to Dr. Keith Ligon, MD, PhD to fund research into mutated cancer-driving genes that an serves as targets for future diagnostic tests and drug development.
